GETTING HERE
At Nobles Day Camp, we place the safety of our campers as our number one concern. Safety is our priority at arrival and departure times, too. Here, you will find important information about arriving and departing from camp by car and by camp bus.
Arrival & Departure by Car
Campers arriving and departing by car are dropped off at camp between 8:30 and 9:00 am and picked up at either 2:00 pm or 4:00 pm, depending upon the program the camper is registered. Cars with both Owls Nest campers (entering pre-k and kindergarten) and campers entering 1st grade and up will drop off/pick up the older campers first and then proceed to the Owls Nest loading area.
Drivers may enter campus through the easiest entrance for them, no matter the camper’s age. Families must choose the same entrance and loading area for each day.
Families who registered their campers as using car transportation receive personalized loading passes in the mail. A loading pass should be kept in the car at all times. No child will be placed in a vehicle without a loading pass and driver’s license as identification.
Entrances/Loading Areas
Pine Street Entrance/Yellow Loading Area: This is the main entrance to campus. For GPS directions, use 10 Campus Drive, Dedham. The Yellow Loading Area is located outside of the Morrison Athletic Center (the MAC) and Nobles Day Camp office. After entering campus, you will reach a stop sign. Continue straight ahead until the road ends at a circle drive to the athletics area. This entrance/loading area is used for both 9:00 am-2:00 pm and 9:00 am-4:00 pm campers entering grades 1-9.
Pine Street Entrance/Owls Loading Area: This is the main entrance to campus. For GPS directions, use 10 Campus Drive, Dedham. The Owls Loading Area is located in front of the Admission & Arts Center building. After entering campus, you will reach a stop sign. Turn left to the Admission & Arts Center building from here. This entrance/loading area is used for both 9:00 am-2:00 pm and 9:00 am-4:00 pm campers in the Owls’ Nest.
Bridge Street Entrance/Blue Loading Area: This is another entrance to campus on Bridge Street. The Blue Loading Area is located near the castle on campus. It is used for 9:00 am-4:00 pm campers entering grades 1-9. The gate at this entrance is locked from 9:15 am-3:15 pm. Any late arrivals, early dismissals, and 9:00 am-2:00 pm campers must use the Pine Street entrance.
Morning Drop-Off
Upon entering campus, cars are directed by Nobles Day Camp staff. Drivers are asked to be patient, stay in the car, and stay in the car line, as this ensures a safe exit for all of our campers. Campers are greeted by camp staff who will open the car door and escort them to their designated nest or group space.
Late Arrivals
Campers entering grades 1-9 arriving late should use the Pine Street Entrance/Yellow Loading Area and wait in the car until a staff member is there to greet them. They will assist the camper and escort them to find their group at the closest activity choice. Under no circumstance should a camper be left unattended.
Owls Nest campers entering pre-K or kindergarten arriving late should use the Pine Street Entrance and park the car near the Arts Center building. The camper should be walked to the front desk in the Arts Center building where a Nobles staff member will contact Nobles Day Camp staff to greet the camper and escort them to their group. Under no circumstance should a camper be left unattended.
Afternoon Pick-Up
Upon entering campus for pick-up, cars are cued up by Nobles Day Camp staff in the order they arrive to each loading area. If a driver arrives before the line begins moving, they are asked to turn off their engine until there is movement. All drivers should be patient, stay in their car, and stay in the line. Nobles Day Camp staff escorts campers to their cars and assists with loading them safely.
Early Pick-Up
Need to pick up your camper early? Please contact the camp office to make arrangements. Early dismissals are only permitted on the hour (e.g., 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, 3:00 pm). Due to the volume of traffic on campus, we cannot accommodate early pick-up times after 3:00 pm. Campers entering grades 1-9 will be waiting for their early pick-up outside of the camp office. Owls Nest campers entering pre-k or kindergarten will be waiting inside the Owls Nest office. The authorized driver will need to park and walk in to pick up the camper. Parents will need to sign out their child and show their loading pass or driver’s license at the time of early dismissal.
AM Care
Campers registered for AM Care may arrive as early as 7:30 am, using the Pine Street Entrance/Yellow Loading Area. AM Care is located in the Richardson Gym in the Morrison Athletic Center. Cars should pull up in front of the main doors of the building, where camp staff will greet, unload, and escort the camper into the gym. Campers are escorted to their groups at 8:30 am. Owls Nest campers are transported to their nests in an activity bus, driven by Nobles trained staff.
PM Care
Campers registered for PM Care may be picked up as late as 6:00 pm, using the Pine Street Entrance/Yellow Loading Area. PM Care is located in the Richardson Gym in the Morrison Athletic Center. Cars should pull up in front of the main doors of the building where camp staff will locate the camper and escort them to the car. Drivers should have their loading pass or driver’s license ready, as staff will not be allowed to release any camper without valid authorization. Drivers will be required to sign out their camper.
Driving on Campus
Please keep your speed under 15 mph. Never pass another vehicle unless directed by Nobles Day Camp staff. Please refrain from using cell phones during loading.
Arrival & Departure by Bus
All campers must be registered for bus transportation on a weekly basis for AM, PM or roundtrip. The AM busses leave the bus stops between 8:00 and 8:15 am and get to Nobles Day Camp by 8:30. The PM busses leave Nobles Day Camp by 4:00 pm and get to the bus stops at about 4:15 or 4:30. Campers will be picked up and/or dropped off at the following locations:
Brookline: Baker School, Brookline High School
Medfield: Shaw’s Plaza
Needham: DeFazio Park, Mitchell School, Newman School, Sunita Williams School
Newton/Waban: Waban Library
Wellesley: Wellesley High School
Westwood: Westwood High School
Each bus is monitored by camp staff. Any campers registered for the bus receives a specific bus assignment and stop times. This is emailed to families. Parents are required to check their child in and out with the bus monitor. Authorized grownups are required to show the loading pass and identification until the bus monitor is familiar with them. If there is no authorized grownup to receive the camper, the bus will contact the camp office and return the camper to camp where they will be placed in PM care at an additional fee. All campers must remain seated while the bus is moving. Families should communicate all absences and other change of plans with the camp office.
